Once your Wedding date has been finalized, you kickstart the entire process involved in wedding planning. If you really wish to have a memorable wedding which you can cherish forever, spend plenty of time in choosing your wedding photographer. Remember that no one can capture the most special day of your life better than a professional photographer. So how do you get about finding the right one? As you interview various photographers, you must ask them certain crucial questions that would help you determine if he/she is the right photographer for you!

1. What all styles do you specialize in?

Most photographers use a combination of various different styles of photography. However, you'll want to make sure that they shoot portraits, for instance, if these are important to you. You wouldn't expect anyone to shoot perfect portraits, right? Opting for the style a photographer has the most experience shooting or likes to shoot best will give you the best results.

2. Can I review your Portfolio?

Reviewing a photographers sample work gives you a sense of their style. Is it candid or more formal? Look out for images you can view yourself in. Think of three words that best describe you and share these with your photographer.

3. Will you also create an elaborate shot list?

This list will make sure that no important photo is missed during the entire event. You should be able to create that list together with the photographer. Have an honest look at what all images really matter and fill your photographer in on situations that he/she might need to know in order to prevent absurd moments.

4. Do you belong to some professional associations, such as PPA?

You want to work with the best, and PPA photographers do more than just snap pictures. They have the technical expertise and artistry to make you look your best and bring your vision to life.

5. Do you have any backup equipment?

You have probably prepared backup plans for every other aspect of your wedding... Your wedding photographer should as well! A true professional will always carry one or two backup lenses, flashes, cameras, lighting equipment, extra memory cards, and batteries.

6. Do you carry liability insurance?

Accidents do happen, and just in case one of your guests happen to trip over your photographer's light stand, it will be good to know you both are well-protected. Even your reception venue may ask the photographer to submit a certificate of liability well in advance.

7. What happens to my images afterward?

Will your wedding images be backed up to a hard drive or the cloud once they are processed? How long will the photographer keep the images afterward? In case you have any concerns about losing your photos, being aware of what the photographer intends to do with your images after the wedding is crucial.

8. When will I receive my wedding photos?

Usually printed photos take several weeks, however, your photographer may be able to provide you some images for social media instantly. You just need to ask.

9. What are the other extra services that you offer?

Always ask about any add-on services that the photographer might be offering. Many wedding photographers offer a VR and 360 degrees streaming wedding video, pre-wedding or save the date shoot, slide shows, same day edit, prints, and high-end photo books.

You won't be able to witness everything that happens at your wedding. The right photographer will capture moments you never knew happened. In the end, you just need to completely enjoy your special day without any stress because this day will never come back. Hire a wedding photographer who knows his job well and makes you feel comfortable. Wish you a beautiful as well as fun wedding!
